Alphonso Davies is one of the best soccer players in the world, and a talent the Canadian men's national team has never seen before.

On Wednesday, Canada hosted Panama at BMO Field in Toronto for World Cup qualifying. With the game tied 1-1 in the 65th minute, Davies decided to take it over and open the floodgates with an absolutely stunning goal.

The Canadian superstar somehow managed to keep a ball that was destined to roll out of bounds in play, flew by Panama centre-back Harold Cummings, and danced around defender Fidel Escobar before burying it past goalkeeper Luis Mejía to make it 2-1.

Tajon Buchanan and Jonathan David would each tack on a goal afterwards to help lift Canada past Panama by a score of 4-1.

The win improved Canada's record in the CONCACAF FIFA World Cup Qualifying to 2-0-4. The team has two qualifying games scheduled in November — one against Costa Rica and another against Mexico — with both taking place at Edmonton's Commonwealth Stadium.

The contests will mark a homecoming for Davies, as the 20-year-old Bayern Munich star hails from Edmonton.
