Cardi B has filed a motion to dismiss a defamation case made against her and her sister by a group of “racist MAGA supporters”.

The “WAP” rapper was sued for defamation in September after allegedly calling a group of Trump supporters racist following an incident at a beach in The Hamptons.

The plaintiffs allege that they were approached by Cardi and her sister Hennessy Carolina, who proceeded to insult them because one of them was wearing a MAGA (Making America Great Again) hat.

On Friday (26 February), Cardi and Hennessy asked the judge to throw out the case, according to legal documents obtained byTMZ.

In the documents, the rapper said that she was only being targeted because she was a celebrity and the accusers wanted money.

The siblings also claimed that the words used were just their opinions and therefore not defamatory.

“The remedy for thin skin is thicker skin, not a lawsuit,” they wrote.

At the time of the incident, Cardi had tweeted a video which apparently showed the pair confronting the plaintiffs after they allegedly harassed Hennessy and her girlfriend, Michelle Diaz. Hennessy also claimed that the accusers had been the ones to start the confrontation.

The Trump supporters, however, argued that the video was edited.
