Yahoo Finance Carmelo Anthony had no feelings about returning to Houston: 'I kind of got past all that'
Carmelo Anthony triumphantly returned to Houston on Wednesday night, helping the Portland Trail Blazers to a 117-107 victory over his former team, the Houston Rockets.
It’s a wild turnaround from just a year ago, when Anthony had essentially been disappeared by the Rockets. You might expect him to have some hard feelings about how he was treated by the organization and GM Daryl Morey, but he doesn’t. After the Blazers’ win, he told the media that he’s essentially over the whole thing.

It’s been a year since Anthony was with the Rockets, and he’s thriving with a new team, so it’s easy to see how he could be past all of it now. But given what went down, it would be understandable if he weren’t. After a poor start in the first 10 games of the 2018-19 season, Morey announced in November 2018 that the team was “parting ways” with Anthony. What followed was more than two months of absolutely nothing, until the Rockets eventually traded him to the Chicago Bulls, who then waived him in February.
Anthony’s tenure with the Rockets was the start of a frustrating time for him, and he struggled to find a job in basketball until he was signed by the Trail Blazers in November. However, he was with the Rockets for just 10 games, far less than any other team he’s been with. Maybe that’s why he seems surprised that anyone expects him to have feelings about returning to face the team he barely played with.
“I honestly don't have any feelings about going back,” Anthony said after Monday’s win against the Hornets, via the Houston Chronicle. “I was only there a couple weeks. I don't really have any type of feelings going back.”
If Anthony did have any type of feelings, they only worked to his advantage. He had a strong showing against the Rockets, with 18 points and 12 rebounds, and he missed just three of his 10 shots from the field.
