Carolina Hurricanes forward Sebastian Aho is known for his dry sense of humor and prior to Tuesday’s game against the Winnipeg Jets, the Finnish star had some subtle jabs for a familiar foe.

Fellow Finn Patrik Laine has taken his game to a new level this season and Aho clearly recognizes that with a backhanded compliment.

A perfect slight between former teammates.

The two highly-skilled forwards were linemates on Finland’s gold medal winning World Junior Championships team in 2016. The duo combined with Oilers prospect Jesse Puljujarvi to make one of the most memorable lines in recent history at the U-20 tournament.

With that history behind them now and an upcoming battle on Tuesday night, Aho was able to present his sarcastic Finnish humor to the world one more time.

Through 33 games, Aho has 18 goals and 30 points, while Laine has jumpstarted his playmaking ability with 21 of his 31 points through 31 games, being assists.
