Yahoo Finance Caroline Flack's death was unbelievably tragic, says ITV boss
Caroline Flack’s death was “unbelievably tragic,” the head of ITV has said.
The Love Island presenter took her own life last month at the age of 40.
ITV’s Dame Carolyn McCall spoke about the late star at the Enders and Deloitte’s media and telecoms conference in London.

The Guardian quoted her as saying: “I think the thing about Caroline Flack is that ITV are absolutely devastated by what happened to her.
“So many people at ITV knew Caroline, including me, and it was unbelievably tragic.
“I think that we can never know what is behind suicide. It is not in any way simple. It is a very, very complex thing.”
Flack died by suicide on February 15, triggering an outpouring of grief from fans and fellow celebrities.
The presenter had been awaiting trial on charges of assaulting her boyfriend Lewis Burton.
Earlier this week it was reported that the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) is to examine its decision to prosecute.

The presenter had been bailed after an initial court hearing and would have been due to appear for the start of her trial this month. She learned of the CPS’s decision to pursue the charges the day before her death.
After she died, the TV star’s management team criticised the CPS for conducting a “show trial”, and Burton - who said his heart was “broken” after Flack’s death - has said that he did not support a prosecution.
Responding to a freedom of information request by the Daily Mirror, the CPS announced there would “be a post-case review panel conducted by a deputy chief crown prosecutor”.
