How to be a CEO: Nextdoor’s Sarah Friar on the global power of being local

In this episode we speak to Sarah Friar, CEO of Nextdoor.

The Northern-Irish born boss tells us how she made it in Silicon Valley, why one in five UK households use their app and the way she was able to more than double their revenue since 2018.

Friar has worked previously as chief financial officer of payments company Square, she was an analyst at Goldman Sachs, she also serves on the boards of Walmart and messaging firm Slack.

Friar tells us about the challenges of building a multinational company whose entire purpose is keeping things local.

She explains why becoming a CEO’s like going full circle to your first job, the opportunities for SMEs on the platform, how they stand shoulder-to-shoulder with giants and why Nextdoor is literally saving lives.
