Staying hydrated is a cost-free way to look after your health and wellbeing.

Unless, you invest in Chanel’s new-release ‘flask bag’: a £4,410 reusable water bottle listed on the French fashion house’s website.

Carrying a reusable water bottle has become something of a status symbol in recent years, representing a perfect marriage between wellness culture and eco-activism.

Anyone who’s anyone is ditching their flimsy, single-use throwaway plastic bottles for more sustainable alternatives.

As a result, we’ve seen an upsurge in these items in recent years – from Bkr’s silicone-encased glass bottle to S’well’s stainless steel, screw-top affair.

At the more expensive end of the spectrum, there is Smartech’s LARQ self-cleaning bottle coming in at £129.

However, Chanel has well and truly knocked the ball out of the park with its latest offering.

The gold-tone metal screw-top bottle comes nestled in a detachable black lambskin bag, which features the label’s cult quilted texture.

Both bag and bottle lid feature the CC Chanel logo together with chain and black leather straps, so they can be worn on the shoulder or in a cross-the-body style by the wearer.

While only one version of the bag is listed on the Chanel website, there is a larger selection available in boutiques, according to the page.

Chanel isn’t the first high-end label to bring out a water bottle.

It follows in the footsteps of Prada, who collaborated with The Corner Shop at Selfridges to release an insulated stainless steel water bottle last November (now sold out).

Vivienne Westwood has also collaborated with 24Bottles to produce a stainless steel alternative water bottle, which is still available at Selfridges.
