The Chase's Anne Hegerty has on-air tiff with Bradley Walsh over cheating

The Chase's Anne Hegerty isn't very happy with presenter Bradley Walsh, after the host appeared to help a show's contestant while reading out one of the questions.

The pair's light-hearted tiff occurred when Bradley asked contestant Cally a question about a set of limited edition stamps in yesterday's (January 21) episode. A controversial subject, naturally.

Bradley started to read out the question: "A 2018 set of stamps featuring which London palace depicts the 'Pond Gardens', 'Great Fountain Gardens', and 'Maze'?" plainly enough, but placed unexpected emphasis on the word 'maze'.

Anne – also known as The Governess – clocked it straight away, sharing her disapproval as soon as the right answer of Hampton Court Palace was confirmed.

"I love the extremely subtle way you went 'MAZE', just to make sure she knew it," she said, prompting immediate denial from Bradley.

"I didn't!" he responded, insisting: "I didn't do that! I did not do that." We think you did, mate. Bradley can help out (or not) however much he fancies, though, because Anne won't be giving up her role on The Chase any time soon.

Opening up about her experience on the ITV gameshow, the quiz master and former I'm a Celebrity star said that she finds the series too "easy" to quit.

"In a sense, it's an easy job," she explained. "I'm autistic, so I find things like getting showered, dressed and making my way to the studio quite difficult and stressful.

"But the place where I know absolutely what I'm doing is on the studio floor. I'll often find myself thinking, 'Why can't the rest of life be like this?'"

The Chase airs weekdays on ITV.
