There’s a great bunch of money-saving deals and discounts for you to grab this week, including cheap petrol and a free Playstation and Fifa 18 game. But remember, a bargain is only a good deal if you were planning to splash out on it anyway.

10p off petrol

You can get 10p of the cost of petrol at Tesco filling stations over the next three weeks if you spend £60 in-store or on deliveries from the shop. Spend the cash on groceries and you’ll get a voucher which can be used for 10p off a litre of petrol until 5 November. You can buy up to 100 litres at the discounted price, although purchases at Tesco Express do not qualify for the offer.

Buy a phone, get a Playstation too

Virgin Media is offering a Sony bundle deal where if you sign up for 24 or 36 months you’ll get an Xperia XA1 plus a Playstation 4 and Fifa 18 game. Deals start at £22 a month for 300 talk minutes, unlimited texts and 1.2GB of data.

Aldi and Iceland will take them for the next two weeks while Tesco says it will still accept them for the next week. Meanwhile most major banks will still allow you to deposit the old coins, or swap them for new ones, in the coming weeks.

Half-price toys

A chance to snap up some early Christmas presents? From Wednesday Sainsbury’s will be offering selected toys at half price in stores, including Barbie, Hot Wheels and Nerf. The offer runs until 24 October.
