Champagne for £10: Where to buy cheap fizz this Christmas and New Year's Eve
We take a look at the best priced champagne on the market…
It’s a Christmas miracle! While retailers may hope to cash in on our buying frenzy at Christmas, the cost of champagne actually falls at this time of year. In fact, the run-up to Christmas and New Year is the best time to get a good deal on bubbly.
So where are the best deals on champers right now? After all, there’s still time to stock up before Christmas.
We’ve been taking a look…
Champagne for a tenner
While plenty of big brands routinely sell for £30 and upwards, this year you can pick up a bottle of decent champagne for just £10 or less – assuming there is any left.
Aldi is offering Veuve Monsigny for £9.99 a bottle, while Asda has cut the price of its Pierre Darcys Champagne to just £10 – down from £24.25.
Champagne for under £15
If you want to spend a little bit more then there is even more choice. Sainsbury’s has Antoine de Clevecy Brut Champagne down to just £13, which is a fiver off the usual price tag.
Meanwhile, Morrisons is offering a bottle of Louis Delaunay Champagne Brut for £12, when it usually costs £28.99. You can also pick up a bottle of Nicolas Feuillatte Brut Champagne for £14.99, which is half its usual price, a deal that’s being matched by Tesco and Asda.
Were you lucky enough to get a bottle of champagne from Tesco for just £8? That deal quickly expired, but the supermarket is still offering two bottles of Andre Carpentier Champagne for £25, meaning each bottle will cost £12.50 (£19.99 if you buy just one). Tesco Finest champers is being sold for £12.99 a bottle.
Waitrose is offering Bertrand de Bessac Champagne for £14.99, when it has a typical price of £27.99.

Lanson Black
This top-brand champagne routinely sells for £34 but Asda and Tesco have slashed its price in time for Christmas. However, the winner is Sainsbury’s, selling bottles for just £20.
Laurent Perrier
While you’d pay £40 for a bottle of non-vintage Laurent-Perrier Brut in Sainsbury’s, it’s at Waitrose for just £24.99 a bottle. Meanwhile a bottle of Laurent-Perrier Vintage Champagne will cost you £34.99 at Waitrose, despite being £45 elsewhere.
Moët & Chandon
But don’t buy all your champagne at Waitrose. It’s selling Moët & Chandon Brut Imperial Non-Vintage Champagne for £32.99, while Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s have it on offer for £25.
Piper Heidsieck
Highlighting the importance of shopping around, a bottle of Piper Heidsieck Brut Non-Vintage Champagne will set you back £29.99 in Tesco, but it’s just £20 in Asda and Morrisons.
Veuve Clicquot
Finally, if Veuve Clicquot is your tipple of choice then you can get a bottle of Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label NV Champagne for £29 in Sainsbury’s, far cheaper than the £36.99 price tag at Morrisons and Waitrose.
