While next Easter Sunday is likely to be as small an affair as last year's, there's no reason why you shouldn't still treat yourself to a tasty traditional lunch.

If you're in need of a little culinary inspiration, however, you'd be wise to look to chef Thomas Straker who has been wowing TikTok fans with his simple but delicious recipes – including a viral video on how to make the ultimate roast potatoes.

The Hertfordshire-raised cooking expert – who was due to launch his own restaurant, Acre, in March last year before the pandemic sabotaged his plans – takes viewers step-by-step through how to create the yummiest crispy spuds at home.

Introducing himself at the beginning of the clip, shared to his account @thomas_straker, he said: "I'm going to start sharing my recipes on here - hope you enjoy!"

Straker – who has previously worked in the kitchen at The Dorchester – explained to viewers that all they needed was potatoes, as well as garlic, rosemary, olive oil and Maldon salt.

His video, which has been viewed more than three million times, went down well with social media users who have handed over more than 274,000 'likes'.

They have also left thousands of comments, including "they look gorgeous", "oh my days" and "my mouth is watering".

Other recipe videos he has created include guides to making meatballs with tomato sauce, pear tarte tatin and baba ganoush.

TikTok is increasingly proving itself to be a go-to for handy home tips – including how shaving cream can be used three ways to remove stains.

In a post on TikTok, user @mama_mila_ shared how the cheap bathroom product could be enlisted to clean different fabrics.

First, she demonstrated how to "spot clean" a rug or carpet by squirting the product onto the offending area and rubbing it in with a cloth.

Next, she takes viewers through how it can remove spilt red wine from a white T-shirt, and how it can gently get marks out of suede.
