Chelsea To Cheshire: Priciest Streets Named

Streets in West London, Leatherhead, Sandbanks and Prestbury have appeared on a list of the country's most expensive addresses.

Glamorous surroundings, large properties and plenty of green space appear to be the key factors in boosting a street's value - and celebrity residents also seem to help.

With an average house price of £4.9m, Campden Hill Square in London's Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is top of the list compiled by Lloyds TSB (LSE: LLOY.L - news) .

It's not the only street in the borough to make the top ten - seven streets there are in the top 10.

They include Drayton Gardens with an average price of £4.4m, Dawson Place averaging £3.9m, Duchess of Bedfords Walk with prices typically at £3.9m and Cadogan Square with typical price tags of £3.7m.

"Other areas in the capital have similar qualities but property prices in Kensington and Chelsea tend to outperform the rest of London," said Lloyds TSB economist Suren Thiru.

"The area clearly has its attractions with excellent schools, upmarket shops, close proximity to the capital's business district and impressive properties."

Outside London, the highest value street is Leys Road in Leatherhead, Surrey, where the average house costs of £3.1m.

Brundenell Avenue in the upmarket resort of Sandbanks in Dorset has an average house price of £2m and is the most expensive street away from London and the South East.

And in the north of England, the most expensive street is footballers' favourite Withinlee Road in Prestbury, near Macclesfield, Cheshire - where the average house price stands at £1.65m.

The most expensive streets in Yorkshire and the Humber are all located in the area that makes up the "golden triangle" between Harrogate, Wetherby and north Leeds.

The region's most expensive street is Bracken Park in Scarcroft in Leeds with an average price of £934,000, followed by Wigton Lane in Leeds (£840,000) and Orchard Close in York (£800,000).

In Wales, the most expensive street is Druidstone Road on the outskirts of Cardiff with an average house price tag of £685,000.
