Chelsea FC XI vs Porto: Confirmed starting lineup, team news as N’Golo Kante and Thiago Silva start

 (ES Composite)

N’Golo Kante makes his first Chelsea start in nearly a month against Porto tonight.

The France midfielder has made back-to-back substitute appearances since recovering from a hamstring tear and is back in the Chelsea starting XI for the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Porto in Seville.

Thomas Tuchel said he does not want to take any risks with Kante ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City and a hectic run-in to the end of the season.

But Kante has been declared fit enough to start as the Blues, who are 2-0 up from the first leg, bid to book their place in the last four of the Champions League.

Thiago Silva also starts in a back three alongside Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta.

Tuchel has gone with same front three of Kai Havertz, Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic that did so well against Crystal Palace.

Confirmed Chelsea line-up: Mendy, Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva, Rudiger, James, Jorginho, Kante, Chilwell, Mount, Pulisic, Havertz.

Subs: Kepa, Caballero, Alonso, Christensen, Abraham, Werner, Zouma, Giroud, Hudson-Odoi, Ziyech, Emerson.
