More than two thirds of Standard Sport readers believe Chelsea were wrong to part ways with club legend Frank Lampard - and a similar proportion think Thomas Tuchel is not the right man to replace him.

More than 2,300 of you cast votes in our poll after the Blues legend was sacked on Monday after just 18 months in charge, having overseen a run of poor form that has left the Londoners ninth in the Premier League table.

A huge 68 per cent of respondents disagreed with the decision, which Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich said had been taken because recent results had left the club "mid-table without any clear path to sustained improvement”.

Former PSG boss Thomas Tuchel is expected to be named as Lampard’s replacement on Tuesday, but the majority of readers did not approve of that decision either.

More than 1,500 of you offered your verdict on the German, with 64 per cent feeling the ex-Dortmund boss is not the right man for the job.
