The Cheltenham half marathon takes place on Sunday 4 September 2022.

What time does the race start?

The race starts at 9am. The race village opens at 7.15am and all runners should be ready to go to their start pens by 8.30am.

Where does the Cheltenham half marathon start and finish?

The half marathon starts and finishes on Cheltenham Racecourse.

Are there other races on the day?

There is also a 10K race and a Community mile race on the same day.

What will the weather be like for the Cheltenham half marathon?

It’s still a little too early to accurately predict the weather for the Cheltenham half marathon with any certainty.

How can I get to the start line of the Cheltenham half marathon?

Parking will be available at Cheltenham Racecourse from 7am on the race morning. If you are being dropped off, organisers are recommending drivers stop on the roads nearby rather than entering the car park, as it is likely to be busy. A lot of the surrounding roads will be closed, so if you are planning on travelling to the event by public transport, it’s a good idea to look at the road closures on the event website and plan your route accordingly.

Will I be able to drop a bag off?

There will be a bag drop in the event village for you to leave a change of clothes and post-race fuelling in. It’s recommended that you avoid leaving any valuables in the race bag.

Are headphones allowed on the race course?

Organisers advise against the use of iPods, MP3 players or other personal stereo devices during the race in order to ensure all runners can hear safety and medical announcements. Bone conduction headphones are allowed.

I’m injured, can I give my race number to a friend?

You can transfer your entry to a friend for a fee of £10. Alternatively, you can defer your entry for a year or transfer to another race, either the Weston Super Half or Exeter's Great West run. The deadline for doing this is 15 August.
