Chrishell Stause is relieved that she can finally talk publicly about the upcoming fourth season of Selling Sunset. After months of fan-fueled speculation, Netflix recently confirmed that it had renewed the reality show — which proved to be one of its breakout hits during the pandemic — for two more seasons.

In an interview for the latest episode of In The Know’s pop culture podcast, We Should Talk, Stause, who stars on the glossy, West Hollywood-set show from The Hills creator Adam DiVello, called the renewal “the worst-kept secret there’s ever been.” The former soap star insinuated that the Selling Sunset cameras have already been rolling, teasing recent real estate deals, wedding dress shopping with engaged co-star Heather Rae Young and a recent interior design overhaul of her Hollywood Hills home with the help of TJ Maxx and Marshalls as things that viewers can expect to see next season.

“I do feel like people connect to the show, and I love when people said that they connected with one of us in whatever way,” Stause said of the show’s fans. “It’s kind of nice that you’re just going about your life and maybe something good or bad can actually bring something to someone — whether it’s escapism or identifying with something that happened to them, [too].”

Chrishell Stause on news of Selling Sunset‘s renewal being public now: “It’s kind of like the worst kept secret that there’s ever been. It’s kind of nice, because it was awkward — everyone kind of knew, and yet we still can’t say anything. It’s just opened us up! We’re excited, we wanted to be able to talk about it. It’s awkward when we can’t. You want to be able to share in that [excitement], and there were certain things that I was working on — deals and things — and they don’t want me to put it on Instagram or anything, because it might be part of the show. People are like, ‘Are you really a real estate agent?’ And I’m doing all of these amazing deals that they ask me not to share right away. It’s very freeing now to share the things that I’ve been working on.”

Chrishell Stause on redoing her home interiors with TJ Maxx and Marshalls: “It finally reflects my personality, and it’s a space that I am really excited to spend time in. We’ve been spending a lot of time at home, and it gave me the time to realize I never made this space my own. I came into it, it was furnished… there were nice pieces, but they weren’t necessarily pieces I would’ve chosen for myself. Now that I’ve done it, I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, why didn’t I do this sooner?’ Now it’s really inviting, it’s really warm and it reflects my personality. It’s the perfect spring refresh. Now I’m ready, whenever I can, to entertain people. I can’t wait to have people over and show it off. Every space flows into the next, but before it wasn’t cohesive. You’re gonna think that I spent all of this money on some top designer who came in and did my home. It’s really beautiful.”

Chrishell Stause on Selling Sunset becoming a breakout hit during the pandemic: “It did happen in the middle of this crazy time where everyone is locked in and not having a lot of interaction, and then all of a sudden this show becomes this sleeper hit. It was a strange time for this to happen, because it felt like something, but I’m still just at my house inside. I don’t know that many people would be able to identity with this happening at the same time as us being stuck inside. Some of it didn’t feel any different. I haven’t had a lot of interactions with people; it’s not like you felt a difference when you walk outside your door as much as it would’ve been if we were out and about. I do feel like people connect to the show, and I love when people said that they connected with one of us in whatever way. It’s kind of nice that you’re just going about your life and maybe something good or bad can actually bring something to someone — whether it’s escapism or identifying with something that happened to them [too].”

Chrishell Stause on who she’s been keeping up with from Selling Sunset between seasons: “I would probably say I still hang out and am really close with… well, first of all, I work with Jason [Oppenheim] all the time. We literally just closed a deal two days ago. Mary and Amanza, we’re always FaceTiming, and we’ve been lucky enough to work on a few things where they’ve been able to do all of the protocols so we could see each other and hang out. Heather will sometimes drive in from OC, and we got to go wedding dress shopping the other day, which was so fun. I haven’t been going into the office that much, just because of everything going on. The second I get a vaccine or anything like that, I’ll be the first one to go back in there.”
