City Moves for 16 April 2014 | Who’s switching jobs

Turner & Townsend
Steve Waltho has been appointed director and head of the consultancy’s UK and Ireland property cost management service outside London. He joins from Aecom, where he is currently European managing director of project and cost management.

BDO
The accountancy and business advisory firm has appointed Mark Hunt as head of its financial services practice. He has been a partner at BDO since 2007, and was previously a partner at KPMG. Joining Hunt, BDO has appointed Leigh Wormald as a partner in its financial services practice.

BCS Financial Group
The Russian financial institution has appointed Max Hayden as its new head of business development, based in London. He was previously managing director of Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s European prime brokerage business.

Lloyds Bank
Stef Merckx has been appointed head of northern European banks at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking. He joins from RBS, where he was most recently responsible for managing relationships with financial institutions in the Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa region. Merckx has also previously held senior roles at ABN Amro, notably as global head of public sector coverage.

Cantor Fitzgerald Europe
Emily Ashford has been appointed as an analyst on the mid-market investment bank’s oil and gas research team. She was most recently an oil and gas analyst at RFC Ambrian. Ashford has also held roles at finnCap, Barclays Capital and RBS.

Chadbourne & Parke
The law firm has appointed oil and gas lawyer Kevin Atkins as a partner in its corporate practice group. He joins from Vinson & Elkins, where he worked in its energy and corporate practices and developed a specific focus on oil and gas transactions across Africa.

Atom Bank
The challenger bank, which seeks to launch in 2015, has announced two senior hires. Edward Twiddy joins as chief innovation officer. He is currently director of the north east Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP). Also joining from the LEP is new deputy director Sophie Haagensen.
