One of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s most trusted aides is among a host of royal servants who have been awarded in the New Year’s Honours list.

Clara Loughran has become a Member of the Victorian Order (MVO) for her work as Harry and Meghan’s senior programme co-ordinator.

New Zealand-born Ms Loughran was famously pictured handing Meghan a bouquet of flowers during last year’s royal wedding.

She is said to be one of the couple’s key confidantes, having previously worked for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Ms Loughran began working with the Sussexes after William and Harry announced last year that their royal household was splitting.

Her recognition continues a royal family tradition of rewarding their own servants under the Royal Victorian Order honour.
