Versace just reintroduced Claudia Schiffer at Milan Fashion Week.

The iconic '90s German supermodel, 53, made her runway return on Friday evening, closing the Versace spring 2024 show in Milan.

Schiffer resurrected her signature strut in a floor-length green and silver checkerboard dress. The slinky form-fitting dress had a metallic finish embellished with crystal beads, and mint green lace that outlined the model’s torso. The look was finished off with a subtle natural makeup look and silver metallic pointed heels with a bow at the base of the foot.

"Today during #MilanFashionWeek, @donatella_versace debuted her spring 2024 collection to a star-studded audience," she and Vogue shared in a collaborative Instagram post.

The caption continued, “One of the most special guests? Legendary supermodel @claudiaschiffer, who closed the show wearing a dazzling green gown.”

“It’s basically molded onto my body. It fits me like a glove,” Schiffer told Vogue. “I always stay really healthy. I do work out, and make sure I get a good night’s rest.”

The last time Schiffer made her way down the catwalk was in 2018. The supermodel joined her contemporaries, Carla Bruni, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, and Helena Christensen, to close Versace’s spring 2018 show.

At the time. Schiffer, Bruni, 55, Campbell, 53, Crawford, 57, and Christensen, 54, joined Donatella Versace on the runway in a variety of gold floor-length gowns with gold heels.

With 30 years of friendship between herself and Donatella, 68, the model explained to Vogue how important their relationship is to her on a personal and professional level.

“Donatella is just a wonderful, warm-hearted, gentle, genuine, nice person who really does care," Schiffer said. “It’s like you’re coming into a warm hug of the Versace family. I always really look forward to it. It’s just more than just a fashion show and ad campaign. It's much more than that.”

While Shciffer’s hiatus was bookended by the two Versace shows, she remained close with the Versace artistic director in the past five years. Donatella, Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing, and Barbie worked together to create two exclusive Barbie dolls for Schiffer on the model's 50th birthday.

The 2020 Barbies were recreations of two of Schiffer’s iconic and sentimental looks for the fashion brands. The first doll was styled to replicate the model’s blue gown from Versace’s fall/winter 1994 runway show.

The second Barbie was modeled after Schiffer’s 2016 look for the Balmain spring/summer collection, where she wore a black long-sleeved macrame top, belt, and cut-out skirt.

Since the release of Schiffer’s Barbies, the model was also referenced by Margot Robbie, who played Barbie in the hit film. In June, as the actress promoted the blockbuster, she was styled in a series of looks paying homage to vintage Barbie outfits, as well as memorable fashion moments.

At a June promotional event, Robbie’s stylist Andrew Mukamal revealed on his Instagram Story that her pink metal mesh Versace dress was designed to pay homage to Schiffer’s pink metallic Versace dress from Paris Fashion Week in 1994.

The German model replied to the Barbie star’s look, writing on Instagram, "Margot Robbie has great taste 😉 @chanelofficial & @versace looks then and now."
