Colin Kaepernick x Nike Air Force 1 "True to 7" are officially on sale — here's where to buy them

Colin Kaepernick may no longer be an NFL quarterback, but his impact is still forceful thanks to his unwavering activism. The former San Francisco 49er and Nike have been longtime collaborators and on Monday, the sportswear giant launched the Nike Air Force 1 “True to 7” in celebration of the defining moments in his storied career on and off the football field.

The white and black shoe (with a light blue sole) features black leather and a collection of graphics, including an image of Kaepernick and his signature afro on the heel tab. You can also find his personal logo on the tongues, a No. 7 hang tag and insoles patterned with white roses and a shattered mask.

What makes the shoes even more unique is “08 14 16,” the date of a preseason game between the San Francisco 49ers and Houston Texans, when Kaepernick sat during the singing of the national anthem for the first time, signifying the beginning of his protest against police brutality. The Wisconsin-born player was not in uniform at the time due to a shoulder injury.

Kaepernick’s longtime girlfriend, Nessa Diab, posted a special friends and family unboxing video on her Twitter Saturday, and the kicks look even better live.

That particular edition arrived in a wooden box, featuring the No. 7 and the words “Resilience,” “The Man,” “Love,” “Awakening,” “Liberation,” “Truth,” and “Courage.” Inside the box, the Air Force 1’s are encased in glass and wrapped in black and white kente cloth.

The Nike Air Force 1 “True to 7” shoes are set to release on Nike exclusively on December 23, and globally on December 28 with a retail price of $110. So, if you miss your chance to get them five days before most of the country, you have another opportunity.
