Colts reportedly won't allow Philly media to ask questions at Carson Wentz presser

Philadelphia Eagles fans shouldn't expect any closure when the Indianapolis Colts introduce Carson Wentz on Thursday. Philadelphia media will reportedly not be allowed to ask questions during Wentz's introductory news conference, according to Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

It's unclear who is behind that directive. It's possible the Colts put that in place, but it's also possible Wentz did not want to answer questions from media members covering his former team. Wentz reportedly has not talked to Philadelphia media since he was benched in Week 14.

Wentz has mostly stayed off social media since his benching. He has tweeted twice since Week 14. He has also put up only two Instagram posts since his benching. One of those messages was a thank you note to the Eagles and Philadelphia after he was traded.

Carson Wentz looking to start fresh in Indianapolis

After a disappointing end in Philadelphia, Wentz will be looking to start fresh with the Colts. Wentz has shown Pro Bowl upside in the past, but took a major step backward last season, throwing for 16 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. Wentz also saw his completion percentage fall to a career-low 57.4 percent.

Wentz will hope he can rediscover his previous form with the Colts. It should help that Wentz will be reunited with Frank Reich, who was the Eagles' offensive coordinator in 2016 and 2017. Wentz had his only Pro Bowl season in 2017.

Because of that, Wentz will likely address his time with the Eagles during Thursday's news conference. If Philadelphia media isn't allowed to ask questions, Wentz's comments will probably ring hollow for Eagles fans disappointed by how things wound up.
