A music producer to stars including Annie Lennox is accused of pouring water through the ceiling and leaving a dead rat in a recycling bin in an alleged harassment campaign against his neighbours.

Mark Arthurworrey, 68, repeatedly targeted Bafta-nominated TV director Misha Manson-Smith and his wife, author and lifestyle blogger Alex, at their Dalston home, it is alleged.

Wood Green crown court heard Arthurworrey is facing a string of claims that he breached a 2017 restraining order by banging and scraping on the floor, putting building waste in the communal bins and leaving a ladder in the garden.

The music producer has pleaded not guilty to all charges, and the court he “does not accept he has committed any offences”.

Judge Joanna Greenberg QC adjourned the case until a trial which is due to take place in February.

Arthurworrey had a successful 25-year career as a music producer, working with acts including Earth, Wind and Fire and Annie Lennox.

He owns the freehold of the converted house in Dalston where Mr and Mrs Manson-Smith bought one of the flats, and faces criminal charges that span from May 2018 to July last year.

According to the charges against Arthurworrey, he is accused of breaking the restraining order which was first imposed on January 2017.

It is said he changed the padlock on the garden gate when prevented by the court order, “denied Mr Manson-Smith access to the communal front hall”, and “poured or allowed water to be poured through the light fittings of the property”.

Arthurworrey is accused of repeatedly causing water to come through the ceiling and into the flat below between June and September 2019, allegedly causing hundreds of pounds in damage and “shorting” the electrics in half the property.

In August 2018, it is said Arthurworrey “caused or encouraged or permitted another to leave a dead rat in the recycling bin”.

Arthurworrey, who lives in Worthing, denies 19 charges of breaching the terms of the restraining order. He has been freed on bail until his trial, set for February 28 next year.

Claims: Mark Arthurworrey and Misha Manson-Smith. Inset, Annie Lennox
