Working from home has made athlesiure a daily default. But if you still want to look dope over Zoom, look no further.

In this episode of In The Know’s The Guide, menswear expert Jovel Roystan shows how to shake up your work from home wardrobe. Don’t worry, you won’t have to give up your sweats just yet. Roystan says “comfort is key” when choosing at-home pieces but that doesn’t mean you can’t still look fresh.

Denim

Roystan opts for a pair of ASOS Design ripped jeans that are casual but still a step up from sweats.

“Just putting on a pair of pants instead of sweat pants or shorts just makes me feel a little bit more productive,” Roystan says. “It kind of switches my mindset.”

Hoodies and Tees

If your work environment is a bit more chill and laid back, you can have a lot of fun with hoodies.

“They add a little bit of fun and personality to your Zoom calls,” he says.

But if you’re in a more conservative environment or one with a more rigid dress code, there are still some great options.

“A mock neck is a good alternative to your standard button-down,” Roystan explains. “They feel super comfy like a tee and they look just as good on camera.”

Pool Slides

While most people aren’t going to be seeing your feet during a video call, you can still flex with your footwear.

“I love a good pair of slides. I’ve been living in these lately,” he says of a pair of sage ASOS Design pool slides. “They’re one of my favorites. They make a statement even if that statement is just for me at home.”

An alternative to pool slides are versatile Birkenstock sandals.

“You can run errands, go to the bodega, come right back and still get right into your workflow,” Roystan says.

The Work From Home Looks

For Roystan’s first outfit, he throws on a loose-fitting ASOS design white cardigan with an Alexander Wang NY statement T-shirt, Dr. Denim Otis jeans and a pair of Birkenstocks.

For his second look, he rocks a tan Banana Republic jogger sweatsuit with his ASOS pool slides. To elevate the outfit, he puts on a matching ASOS design blazer over his hoodie.

“My work from home must-have is a good blazer,” Roystan explains. “A blazer comes in handy in so many situations. You can throw it over a hoodie, over a tee or a sweater — when you wake up late and have a Zoom meeting that you didn’t prepare for.”
