Whether you’re looking to be a more conscious consumer or you just don’t have a ton of storage space, the idea of buying just a few really high-quality items that will last is pretty compelling. After all, is it any fun throwing away a top or a pair of shoes that fell apart after just a few wears? No thanks.

If you’re going to invest in your wardrobe, handbags and shoes are the place to start. With proper care, these items really can last for years.

Now when most people think about “high quality,” their mind goes right to fancy designer items that can cost thousands of dollars. Believe it or not, though, neither a recognizable name nor a high price tag necessarily means an item is well-made.

On the contrary, there are lots of brands that may not be on your radar that take the time and attention to craft pieces that continue to look and feel good over time. When it comes to boots, La Canadienne is one of those brands. They’re handmade in Canada using the best leather and suede. But even more importantly, they’re ridiculously comfortable. The brand recently sent me a pair of the Cassy boots and I basically haven’t taken them off. I’ve worn them with jeans and dresses, but to be honest, also with sweatpants because they’re just that good. If you can believe it, I walked 30 city blocks in these boots and not only were my feet not hurting at all, but the boots still look as good as new. I am beyond impressed!

Right now, lug sole boots are super popular and La Canadienne has lots of good styles to choose from. Not only are they on-trend, but they really are made to last. If you don’t usually spend this much money on shoes, you should reconsider or at least make an exception. La Canadienne boots are def worth it.
