This cordless stick vacuum cleaner is a best-seller for John Lewis, and it’s easy to see why.
A lightweight design, just 2.2kg in the hand, makes it easy to wield around the house and when you get up close, you can transform it from stick to handheld. Crucially, it’s also keenly priced, at £149.
Cordless vacuums are great for smaller houses and apartments, not least because they occupy little floor space when they’re not cleaning floors. They’re also incredibly useful as a supplement to a larger vacuum cleaner, when you just need to do a quick mid-week spruce-up.
In addition to daily dust and debris, they’ll pick up pet hair and you can even take them out to give the car for a quick valet.
This John Lewis 2-in-1 can be used for both carpets and hardwood floors (top tip: check the brush for any unwanted objects that could scratch a wooden floor before getting started.)
A bagless design, it has a 0.5 litre capacity dustbin and washable filtration system, and like all good vacuums, comes with handy accessories. When the stick is in its handheld mode, there’s a 2-in-1 combi brush for cleaning upholstered furniture and curtains, while a crevice nozzle handles narrow spaces and nooks. It’ll make quick work of any crumbs that might sneak between cushions or creep down the back of the couch.
The vacuum comes with a wall hanger, so that you park it out of sight when not in use. Battery life is rated at around 40 minutes, which given this stick is unlikely to be required to clean larger properties in a single sweep, should be fine. The battery takes around five hours to fully re-charge. A convenient status display lets you know how much runtime remains.
