Coronation Street has confirmed that Gary and Faye Windass will both hear their fates in court next week.

Gary (Mikey North) has been in prison since the start of the year, when he took the blame for Faye's attack on Adam Barlow. He remained behind bars even after Faye told the police that she was responsible.

Faye (Ellie Leach) attacked Adam in a case of mistaken identity – wrongly believing that he was Ray Crosby, who'd attempted to rape her earlier in the evening.

Although this is a key part of Faye's defence, she has been told that she could still face a year behind bars.

Early next week, Faye's boyfriend Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) tells his stepfather Kirk Sutherland that he's planning to resign from the police force.

Craig has been told that his connection to Faye could negatively affect his future in the police, but he now believes that their relationship is more important.

When Kirk (Andrew Whyment) finds Faye in the Victoria Garden, he tells her about Craig's big decision.

Faye becomes emotional and tells Craig that there's no way she'll let him destroy his career just for her, so it's best for them to end things.

Later on, Faye and Gary both attend court.

Things start off well for the Windasses, as Gary is given eight months for perverting the course of justice, but is told that he's free to go thanks to time served. But what will happen to Faye?

Whatever the outcome, there are big repercussions back on the Street as Craig angrily confronts Kirk at the Rovers Return, accusing him of causing the break-up of his and Faye's relationship with his meddling earlier on.

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday, April 19 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
