It’s your Coronation Street spoilers for next week (22 – 26 February 2021), as Yasmeen gets desperate, Leanne sees a psychic and the Platts give Ted a disastrous send-off:
Yasmeen’s cash crisis
There are some professions that instantly arouse suspicion in soapland. Police officers are always incompetent and arrest the wrong person. Social workers can usually be found separating children from parents. But worst of all are bailiffs, who are usually portrayed as merciless thugs who can strip a house of its contents in seconds.
So it’s little wonder that Yasmeen is left panicked when she discovers that Geoff has left her with a stack of final demands she can’t possibly pay.

As Alya raises the idea of selling the community centre to raise the cash, Yasmeen is left wondering whether this is her only option if she hopes to avoid her goods being seized.
Leanne seeks answers in the stars
Who’d have thought we’d be seeing not one but two storylines about the spiritual realm on our soaps? We’ve recently had Max consulting a clairvoyant on EastEnders, while in Corrie we’re set to see Leanne getting conned by a psychic by the name of Jeremy who makes out that he’s in contact with Oliver.
Having watched Simon smoking spliffs in Victoria Gardens with his wayward associate Jacob, Toyah suggests that Leanne ought to be concentrating on her surviving son. At the moment, Leanne is dismissing her sister’s concerns, but might she end up ruing her decision after adorable little Sam gets caught up in Si’s drugs drama?
Peter jumps to conclusions
Peter and Carla are one of those couples who we’re supposed to root for, despite any scenes featuring the two of them routinely ending in yelling, tears and anguish. Never mind Relate counsellors, Peter and Carla could do with advice from a team of UN peacekeepers.
The next chapter of this heated tale will see Peter grasping the wrong end of the stick where Carla and this charmer from her past Lucas are concerned and reaching the erroneous conclusion that she’s up to no good while on a supposed business trip to Harrogate.

Let’s hope his suspicions doesn’t result in him reaching for the nearest vodka bottle.
Dev welcomes Nina
Comedy award of the week goes to Dev, who’s involved in a scenario that most sitcom writers would kill for.
He’s invited Nina to tea but ends up going overboard in his efforts to impress her. Hence he and Mary cooking a cauliflower wellington and lining up a lesbian French film to watch following the food. Expect Asha to be left embarrassed at her dad’s attempts to be woke and wishing he’d decided to go to sleep instead.
Gail v Eileen
The Platts are readying themselves to bury Gail’s father Ted (also known as “Dead Ted” or “me gay granddad” by the ever-so droll David). But there’s little chance of this being a sombre, respectful send-off. In fact, it stands a good chance of becoming Weatherfield’s answer to Wrestlemania, thanks to Eileen having been employed by undertaker George Shuttleworth to drive the hearse.
Eileen and Gail have, in the past been witnessed trying to tear each other’s hair out while rolling around on the cobbles in their dressing gowns, so it’s likely that the service will end up being spoiled. It’d be wise to keep these two away from anything that could conceivably be used as a weapon: wreaths, hymn books, shovels at the graveside…
