Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street's Simon Barlow faces an upsetting time next week after the tragic death of Oliver Battersby.

The Weatherfield teen feels the pressure after agreeing to give a reading at his brother's funeral.

Corrie bosses have revealed that Oliver's heartbreaking final scenes air this Friday (November 27).

This follows Leanne's decision to drop her legal fights over Oliver after the latest upsetting developments with his deteriorating health.

In the aftermath next week, Simon (Alex Bain) confides in Shona Platt about how he's dreading playing such an important role at the funeral.

Shona (Julia Goulding) takes a kind approach by assuring Simon to speak from the heart with his reading and it'll all be fine.

Simon is immediately encouraged by Shona's words and feels ready to face the challenge ahead.

As they continue to spend time together, Simon clearly enjoys Shona's company.

The teen even offers to make Shona a playlist, wanting to strengthen their friendship.

Meanwhile, Jane Danson – who plays Leanne – has warned fans to expect heartbreaking scenes tomorrow as Oliver's final moments air.

She recently said: "It's Leanne's worst nightmare, all this fight now for nothing. She's done everything and it hasn't changed anything. She's devastated by the loss of what could have been.

"Everyone else's life is going on, Nick now has a son and Oliver will never even get to Sam's age. She's trapped in a vicious circle of guilt, anger, sadness and despair.

"It's devastating. For everything Leanne is, she has got a heart and it's going to be completely broken. The journey to say goodbye is absolutely devastating."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.

    Israel's West Bank settler population has grown at a far higher rate than the country as a whole over the last four years, a pro-settler group said Wednesday, a period that coincides with the Trump administration's unprecedented acceptance of settlement activity. The report by West Bank Jewish Population Stats shows the settler population growing by around 13% since the start of 2017 to reach 475,481. GameStop Corp. continued its meteoric rise in U.S. premarket trading after an Elon Musk tweet fanned the flames of its rally.While all eyes are on tech results and the Fed, new coronavirus variants that sparked fresh lockdowns are also weighing on the so-called reflation trade that bets on an end to curbs. The International Monetary Fund downgraded Europe’s 2021 growth outlook on Tuesday, in part on its late and stumbling vaccination campaign. Data showed global coronavirus cases surpassed 100 million, with the U.K. becoming the first nation in Europe with 100,000 deaths.“For the reopening trade to really have persistence it is going to need to show a much broader participation across the market,” Jim McDonald, chief investment strategist at Northern Trust, said on Bloomberg TV. “The virus vaccine rollout is the most important development to help give confidence in the shape of the recovery.”Elsewhere, Treasury yields held steady and the dollar edged up.
