Corrections and clarifications

• In a panel accompanying an article about trade negotiations (UK and EU struggle to bridge gap in talks over Northern Ireland trade, 16 October, page 10), we highlighted a key quote from an EU source saying: “[Tariffs] would be a short-term move and not in the EU’s interests … but it is something people can get behind”. The source, as the article made clear, was referring not to “tariffs” but to the prospect of the UK triggering article 16 to suspend the Northern Ireland protocol.
