Covid cakes? Bakers go a step ahead to make vaccine theme desserts

Not only are we dealing with the coronaviruses in our own houses and apartments, but all of our restaurants and public places are as well. With the beginning of the pandemic, most of us were focused on baking our first bananas cakes and apple pies, while the baking specialists had a competition with each other to make 'Covid-cakes.'

Vaccine-themed desserts influenced by the outbreak

Right from cookies that resemble the graphic presence of a viral disease to sweets that use toilet tissue and face masks as a decoration product, the 'corona cake' trend was the largest and possibly the craziest food trend of 2020.

This emphasis has now turned to vaccines in 2021, as countries aim to vaccinate their citizens. Dessert shops are introducing a syringe to their treats to give their sweet creation a Covid vaccine twist.

But this syringe-themed dessert is not a one of a kind; Covid-inspired cakes and desserts became famous last year. Home bakers and others are starting to make vaccine-themed cakes and desserts for birthdays and other events. And these cause-related treats have turned quite popular during the global pandemic scenario. Each of the designs is beautiful to look at.

Let us take a sneak-peak at some of the colourful, creative baked goodies ruling social media like Instagram.

In March, Cerna Madonna, a diner in Prague, produced vaccine-themed desserts with a shortcrust pastry crust, banana meringue, and strawberry-banana fill. A vaccine capsule has been placed on top of the desert. They had previously produced a coronavirus-themed dark-coloured dessert as well!

Patisserie creators in Mumbai have been using the virus as a motif. Furthermore, a well-known sweet-meat shop group in Kolkata incorporated a 'corona' Sandesh and 'corona' cake to their menus.

In addition, a San Francisco bakery is offering ‘Just Vaccinated' desserts with the sign encouraging residents to get vaccinated.

In January, the Schürener Backparadies baker in Germany launched vaccine cakes shaped like large syringes with the words "2021-Bye Bye Corona" inscribed.

One of the creative-minded bakers subsequently decided to go a step further and design a cake into a person receiving a vaccine jab on the current pattern.

Yet another bakery in Zapopan, Mexico, baked a cake in the shape of a vaccine bottle.

Which among these enticing desserts maybe you'd like to begin? Or, perhaps you'd like to make some desserts all by yourself?
