From House Beautiful UK

One of the key decorating trends this year is the mixed metallics look. Pairing different metals, from copper and gold to silver and bronze, creates a dynamic interior and adds a contemporary touch to any room.

You can experiment with contrasting metallic tones to create a sophisticated living room. Find out how to achieve this stylish scheme below:

Lisa Broad, head of buying at Harveys, says…

With mixed metallics highlighted as a dominant interiors trend for 2017, this look embraces an edgy trend in a way that can be easily transferred into a variety of homes and styles.

This look throws the conventions of matching and co-ordinating out of the window. The chic, angular silver features of the Kimberly coffee and lamp table perfectly contrast with the warm, rounded pops of copper and gold. To recreate, select metallic accessories that contrast with those you already have in your home. If cool silver tones are dominant throughout your interior, select a mirror, cushion or even a lamp table with a splash of fiery copper or rose gold.

The trick to ensuring the look doesn't clash too much is making sure core colours of the room, such as your sofa and wall colour, tie the mix of tones together. Here, the teal Connie sofa ties these two elements together perfectly, harmonising the clashing tones of warm and cool.
