'Creepy' Disneyland footage resurfaces on TikTok after a decade: 'It must be enormous'

·2-min read

It’s healthy to be skeptical of so-called supernatural videos on social media, especially in this instance.

Footage of what appears to be a “ghost” watching fireworks at Disneyland went viral on TikTok recently — and it’s 11 years old.

“If you scare easily, keep scrolling,” TikToker @mycinema135 said in the video. “I want to show you something creepy. Disney guests saw a ghost during the fireworks show. Did you miss it?”

An outline of a mysterious figure can be seen outside Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty Castle.

This particular iteration of the video has not gone viral yet, but knowing TikTok’s mysterious algorithm, the video’s lifespan has only just begun. As of press time, it has been viewed more than 15,000 times.

Here’s everything coffee lovers need for a better cup of joe:

The Independent noted that the footage was actually uploaded to YouTube in 2009 with the title “Ghost watches fireworks from the Disneyland castle” by a channel named danloganify. It has driven nearly 250,000 views in the past decade.

Some commenters were spooked.

“if that’s a real ghost… it must be enormous,” one YouTube user wrote.

“I got told this was a staff member wanting to get a good view, so he wore camo, but my question is why is he so f****** tall,” another asked.

Others tried to explain it away.

“It’s a cast member standing there with a costume on its been told they wear it for protection,” one commenter wrote.

“Yeah, sorry, I know it feels awesome to think you caught a real ghost but as others said, it’s a conductor with a suit meant to blend with the night sky but the firework lighting made it visible,” another replied.

Though it’s extremely unlikely that there’s truly a ghost in a Disney park since they won’t even let mosquitos in, it is the most magical place on earth
