Cricket fans have been left frustrated after live coverage of England’s Test series against India cut out during streaming on All4.

Viewers had been hoping to escape the snowy, lockdown UK by catching up with the latest Test action in India, but technical issues led to a flurry of complaints.

All4 acknowledged the problem on Monday morning, tweeting: “We are aware that some of you may be having issues with the coverage on All4, we are looking into this currently.”

But the patchy coverage simply wasn’t good enough for fed-up fans who complained that it wasn’t the first time they’d had problems with the service.

One annoyed viewer tweeted: “All4 coverage has cut off for me 3 days running now, around 11am. Says 'channel is not available' on NowTV, Android App and C4 website. Do I need to buy a TV aerial in case this happens again tomorrow?”

Another added: “An absolute joke to go off air like that.”

And another confused fan tweeted: “I was watching the Cricket on @All4 through my @NOWTV stick, and it suddenly said it was unavailable due to rights restrictions. What's going on?”

Test cricket coverage had recently returned to terrestrial TV on Channel 4 after Sky and BT Sport had refused to meet the asking price to air the series.

It was welcome news to many cricket fans who said it would give everyone the chance to follow the sport, and looked like a hit as more than a million people tuned in to the first day of England’s first Test match against India.
