When I first laid my eyes on The Comb No. 002 from the viral hair care brand Crown Affair, I knew I had to have it.
As somebody with very long, thick and easily-tangled wavy hair, I know a thing or twelve about wide-tooth combs. But this comb was different. I had never seen a wide-tooth comb that I actually wanted to use and display atop my carefully-curated dresser.
I know you probably want to read that I had a better initial reason for spending nearly $50 on a comb other than the fact that it’s just pretty — but I don’t! And that’s OK! Because it is really, really cute. I mean, look how cute it is:

Just to be clear, I am absolutely not saying that everyone needs to spend $46 on a comb. Seriously, nobody needs to do that. However, if you want to, let me breakdown what’s so great about the Crown Affair comb.
First, the brand states that the comb is useable on straight, wavy and curly hair with every kind of texture. You can read through the many, many Sephora reviews that back up that claim. Still, a friendly reminder here: When it comes to beauty, what works for someone else may not work for you!
And even though it doesn’t look it, the comb is designed for use in the shower, post-shower and pretty much whenever. Use it to gently work through tangles — especially while conditioning your hair — without causing breakage.
In terms of aesthetics, the Crown Affair comb is hand-carved with wide teeth and rounded tips. It’s also super lightweight and easy to grip. Oh, and it comes with the chicest storage bag.
My personal favorite way to use it is right before bed because it feels so good on my scalp and is actually excellent at detangling my uncooperative locks. I just put on a fluffy robe, work my favorite hair oil from my mid-length to ends and then use the comb to forget that it is not, in fact, Friday.
