A 30-year-old cyclist has been left fighting for life after a collision with a van in east London.

Police were called to Bow Roundabout, close to the A12 at 10:25am on Monday.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service rushed to the scene and the cyclist was taken to an east London hospital where he remains in critical condition.

His family have been informed, police said.

The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and enquiries to establish the circumstances of the collision are ongoing, they added.

Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating the matter and and appealing for witnesses to come forward.
