Yahoo Finance Dad-to-be’s tantrum is caught on tape at gender reveal party when he discovers he’s having a little girl
This dad-to-be was disappointed when he learned he was having a girl, but the Internet put him in his place!
TikTok user Matt H-B (@matthb92) posted a video of an expecting couple taking part in a gender reveal party, and the future father had a less-than-ideal reaction when he found out he was having a daughter.
The clip, which has over 720,000 views, caused some serious commotion in the comments section, with many users calling the dad out for his reaction.
The gender reveal party started off pretty normally. The expecting parents stood amongst friends and family, with a giant question mark-covered balloon floating ominously. As the mother-to-be popped the balloon, some smaller pink balloons flew out, signifying that the couple is expecting a daughter.

Gender reveal parties — which are controversial to begin with, especially when they use harmful balloon releases — are usually a time to celebrate the birth of a future child.
But this reveal caused nothing but anguish for the dad in question. As soon as the pink balloons flew out, dad muttered something under his breath (something that looked rather profane), and tossed the balloon string on the ground in despair.
‘Imagine your kid seeing this when she’s older…’
Obviously, TikTok users showed up in droves to give dad the earful that he probably deserved.
“Why would you have that reaction? I can see hoping for a boy but to visibly be upset? As long as the baby and your wife [are] healthy [then] be happy,” said a levelheaded TikToker.
“His daughter is going to be heartbroken when she sees this when she’s older. Whatever biased opinions [you have] should disappear when you are having children,” wrote another user.
Other commenters pointed out that just because the dad was disappointed, that doesn’t mean he won’t be a loving father.
“People are so mean. He wanted a boy. It doesn’t mean he’s not going to love his daughter. Geez people,” wrote one defender.
“Just because he was disappointed doesn’t mean he’s going to love the baby any less,” wrote another sympathetic user.
