Dancing on Ice's Myleene Klass on juggling motherhood, homeschooling and skating
Dancing on Ice star Myleene Klass has opened up about the pressures of being a working mum in lockdown - admitting that she's finding it hard.
The musician,d taking to ice on the ITV show, says that she'd rather do complex skating moves than tackle maths problems. Myleene is mum to Ava, 13, Hero, nine, and son Apollo, 17 months.
"Family life at the moment is a lot," she told The Mirror. "My children are asking me about fronted adverbials, my daughter is doing fractions, which literally I would rather go on the ice and do a head banger than take on fractions!
Despite the challenges of being bemused by home schooling and the pressures of looking after kids entails, she's thrilled that Dancing on Ice is on TV to give us all some no-nonsense entertainment.
"The show couldn't have come at a better time," she added. "The light relief it provides, my kids get excited, they want to see the costumes, they want to know what everyone else is dancing to... everybody just needs the pressure turned down a little bit.
"People want to smile, I want to smile, I just want to be entertained – I want to see glitter and people spinning around and overcoming new challenges.
Same, Myleene, same.
Myleene takes to the ice for the first time this weekend on Dancing on Ice, and she'll be up against the likes of former Coronation Street star Faye Brookes and former Olympian Colin Jackson.
Dancing On Ice continues Sunday at 6pm on ITV
