Yahoo Finance Dashboard camera captures stranger harassing mom and baby for breastfeeding in their car: ‘Call the police’
A breastfeeding mother was harassed in a parking garage by a total stranger, and the unsettling footage is going viral.
Posted to the subreddit r/PublicFreakout — but originally uploaded by TikTok user @gelseymaree — the post gained over 13,000 upvotes and nearly 2,000 comments.
Now, much like the stranger who shamed a mom in the middle of Walmart for buying formula for her hungry baby, this public confrontation is enraging people around the world.
In the video, mom @gelseymaree and her baby girl are seen sitting inside a car, apparently within a parking garage.
The footage begins mid-confrontation, with the mom stating to an unseen stranger, "If I'm in my own car, this is my property, it's up to you whether you want to look into my car..."
The man, presumably standing off-camera outside the woman's car, replies, "I got kids in the car, and all they see is your areolas, and it's just inappropriate. I don't care what you got going on in here, I need you to go breastfeed somewhere in private."
The mom, stunned (as evidenced by her onscreen text), replies, "You can choose to let your children look somewhere else."
"Let me tell you how this is gonna go, little missy," the man interrupts. "This is a public parking lot, I look where I want to look."
"And if I were to call the police right now, I would say you're harassing me, I wouldn't be the one getting in trouble," she responds.
"Call the police. I'm not scared of no man," he replies.
The video ends there, so it's unclear how the confrontation concludes — but the encounter is now quickly circulating online, and garnering thousands of angry responses.

"The way he calls her 'little missy' like she's five. She is a grown a** adult breastfeeding her baby, it is the most normal thing in the world," one Reddit user commented.
"Imagine stigmatizing something that all humans experience. Being fed by your mother is as natural as it gets," another user commented.
To this, another Redditor replied, "It's not stigmatizing, it's sexualizing. He's saying she is committing an indecent act and is implying he has the right to threaten police action and harass her. Breastfeeding in public has been legal in the U.S. since 1999."
"Even my 3 year old knows what privacy is. Just look the other way and give her the respect she deserves. She isn't conducting sexual acts. She's feeding a baby," wrote another user.
"Hopefully she rolled her window up, and called the police immediately," one user wrote.
Clearly, @gelseymaree's footage is stirring up a lot of feelings — and perhaps inspiring some important conversations about privacy and breastfeeding.
