Davina McCall has shared a video of her HRT routine in an attempt to demystify the menopause.

The Masked Singer presenter posted a clip of herself applying the hormone replacement therapy (HRT), and her every day ritual of using estrogen gel and testosterone cream.

"A big part of my morning routine is hormones, and I thought to demystify it a little bit, I would show you how to apply it," Davina said in the video. "In the interest of transparency I have hypothyroidism. So this is thyroxin, and I take 100 micrograms of that a day."

She continued: "This is my hormone sticker - and this is my horn tattoo... It does leave a little bit of sticky stuff but I thought you should see the ups and downs. I want you to see warts and all.

"When I put on a new sticker, I put it on the other side. We use stickers because they are transdermal, transdermal is important because it's a much better way to take HRT."

She then showed herself applying Estradot, an HRT patch, which she placed on her hip. She went on to reveal that she boosts her estrogen levels with an estrogen transdermal gel, which she applied to her arm.

The 53-year-old star also spoke about boosting her testosterone level with a cream which she rubbed onto her thigh. "Testosterone does not make you grow a penis, or testicles or get hair or anything like that," she joked. "I am just replenishing my levels to where they should be."

"This is a faff, but I do feel normal again," she concluded. "Sometimes I feel better than I have done in years."

"My morning HRT routine!," Davina captioned her video. "Just trying to de mystify and de stigmatise HRT . It occurred to me that because we don’t talk about it some of you might like to see what it is, and how u put it on . I didn’t mention that the progesterone part of my hrt I get from the mirena coil #menopause #menopausing #HRT."

Davina will be presenting a documentary next week about the biology of the menopause, the affect it has on women's health, and all the misinformation about menopause that still exists.

Sex, Myths and The Menopause on Channel 4 will air on Wednesday, May 12 at 9pm.
