Demi Lovato designs face mask collection to celebrate Pride Month

Demi Lovato is celebrating Pride Month by designing face masks in support of the non-binary community.

The Confident hitmaker revealed they identified as non-binary in May and has adopted the pronouns 'they/them', and now Demi has teamed up with Richfresh's Henry Mask brand to release a limited edition four-pack of coverings to curb the spread of Covid-19.

"Pride is a celebration of our community, and this year I wanted to think of a way to give back to the community," Demi said in a statement to Variety. "Working with Henry Mask to create these beautiful masks with designs that are meaningful to me has been the perfect combo of working to keep our community safe and helping the next generation."

The special edition masks feature butterfly and UFO designs and were released on Monday, with proceeds going to The Center for Transyouth Health and Development at Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

"My hope is that we can help make the next generation's gender journey one of compassion and make everyone feel welcomed and understood for being their true authentic selves!" Demi added.

Demi revealed they were "proud" to identify as non-binary following their announcement, and has vowed to share their experiences with fans as they navigate a new path.

"Not only has my life been a journey for myself, I was also living for those on the other side of the cameras," they said in a video posted on Twitter. "Today is a day I'm so happy to share more of my life with you all - I am proud to let you know that I identify as non-binary and will officially be changing my pronouns to they/them moving forward."
