Denise Van Outen is the third celebrity confirmed for the Dancing on Ice line-up.

The actor and presenter was revealed to be taking part in the 2021 programme on Loose Women on Wednesday as she appeared via video link.

She said: "I'm really excited, I can't believe it and finally I get to tell people!"

Van Outen added that she hadn't yet told her daughter Betsy, 10, but said she will be "so excited because she loves the show and we watch it every year."

She added: "Hopefully I'll be able to skate because I literally cannot stand up on ice and every time I've taken Betsy at Christmas time to a rink I've been the one on the penguin!"

The 46-year-old went on: "After the year we've all had it's going to be lovely and refreshing to see a bit of sparkle, a bit of glamour and see us all happy and smiling enjoying ourselves on the ice."

Van Outen is no stranger to a celebrity competition as earlier this year, she was unmasked as one of the stars on the first series of the UK's Masked Singer.

She was craftily disguised as Fox on the programme which ultimately saw Girls Aloud member Nicola Roberts, aka Queen Bee, win.

It comes after Sunday saw musician and presenter Myleene Klass as the first star announced while Emmerdale star Joe-Warren Plant was confirmed to be taking to the ice during Tuesday's This Morning.

There are still nine famous faces to be announced as 12 stars will compete to be named the winner of the ITV contest.

The competition, which typically kicks off in January, will see Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield return to their roles as presenters while Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, John Barrowman and Ashley Banjo once again make-up the judging panel.
