Oftentimes, Black-owned businesses actually cater to all backgrounds. Some of your favorite beauty products can easily be found at BeautyBeez, the Black-owned beauty supply store that carries its products online.
BeautyBeez invites people from all skin colors, hair textures and wig wearers to shop all things hair, skin, body and more. Black women have taking it upon themselves to treat their own tresses while in quarantine. BeautyBeez thankfully stands as an accessible beauty resource for Black women and men to achieve their best twist outs, edges, beards and wig transformations.
A Black-owned beauty supply store online can be hard to come by, so I put BeautyBeez to the test and did my own little haul. Straight from the brand’s website, I swiped several products. First, I nabbed the Eco-Style Gel with Olive Oil. I also added to my cart the Baby Tress Edge Styler, a shampoo brush, Kazmaleje’s Detangling Comb and its Detangler Paddle Comb (which has since sold out on the BeautyBeez site).

Although BeautyBeez is based in L.A., my package got to me in New York within a week. As for the products, I was impressed with most of them. The Baby Tress Edge Styler is as iconic as I remember when I first got one. I did my edges using the Eco-Style gel. The tool’s arrow-shaped brush head makes it easy to swoop edges seamlessly. Also, on wash days, I whip out the Kazmaleje comb and brush because it really gets through my thick hair.
Even though the Kazmaleje paddle comb is sold out, you can achieve the same hair definition, if not more, from the Felicia Leatherwood detangler brush, which gets through any and all knots. Sadly, because my hair is so thick at the roots, the shampoo brush was a miss for me. It didn’t hurt my pocket too much, though, because it was just $1.99.

Overall, BeautyBeez has everything that I need as a Black woman who likes to switch up her hair at least once a week. Plus, I’ve made several return e-visits with my cart still full, debating what I really need and what I just want. Shopping for beauty products online is already one of my biggest hobbies. Finding a beauty supply store that is accessible and Black-owned just makes it even sweeter.
