Diggerland USA Theme Park Breaks Ground

WEST BERLIN, NJ--(Marketwired - Mar 12, 2014) - Following the completion of initial site work, the owners and senior management of Sahara Sam's Oasis held a ceremony to break ground on Diggerland USA, the first construction-themed adventure park in the United States. The event took place March 11^th at 4:00 in the afternoon over the 14-acre site that will soon be home to New Jersey's newest amusement park.

The ceremony had all the elements one might expect from an event of this nature, but it was the addition of a few surprises that took the show. City officials and company management assumed their positions, chrome plated shovels in hand, and broke ground next to the sixth shovel on the end of an 18,000 pound 4CX Backhoe operated by Brandon Moore. Moore is the General Manager for both the water park and what will be Diggerland USA. The 4CX, supplied by local JCB dealer Farm-Rite, is one of many pieces of heavy construction equipment that children and their families will have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of when the park opens.

Principal of both Diggerland USA and Sahara Sam's Oasis, Yan Girlya, spoke briefly on his excitement. "Today is another milestone for this team, our family, and the Jersey community." He went on to describe the project as "one of many dynamic amusement initiatives you can expect from a team that works this hard." Yan is the General Manager of SAMBE Construction who is overseeing the design and project administration of Diggerland. Also in attendance was long time SAMBE employee Chris Baldwin who will assume the Director of Operations position for the new park. SAMBE is responsible for the construction of Sahara Sam's Oasis which opened in 2009. Town officials were quick to note their appreciation for the year over year capital expansions, evolution, and success of the business. The entire senior management team is quickly gaining industry recognition for their unconventional innovation and rapid growth.

The new theme park site is centrally located behind the existing indoor and outdoor water park off Cooper Road in West Berlin, NJ. Officials have yet to reveal an official opening date for the park beyond early summer, however, the Diggerland USA website has begun taking birthday party and large group reservations with dates as early as June 14^th.
