Dina Asher-Smith wants to de-mystify and de-stigmatise the sports bra
Dina Asher-Smith is the first guest editor on Nike, choosing her go-to running bras.
'Women ask me about sports bras more than running trainers', says Dina.
Every runner with breasts will know that finding the perfect bra is no easy task, even if you're an athlete. Writing on Nike, British World Champion, Dina Asher-Smith says, 'Yes… women ask me about sports bras more than running trainers. We already know how to find the running shoe to suit us. But when you’re trying to find the perfect sports bra there are a lot more question marks… Where do you go? What do I need? What should it feel like?'
'Lack of sports bra know-how, wearing one that’s ill-fitting, or not supportive enough most definitely serves as a barrier to an active lifestyle. And it’s a completely unnecessary one. We know that loads of young women sadly stop participating in sport in their early teens. One of the biggest reasons is a general feeling of discomfort and sadly shame around their rapidly changing bodies. And I mean, I get it. I’ve obviously been there.'
Writing, 'many girls associate breast pain with sport or physical activity in general', Asher-Smith wants to 'de-mystify and de-stigmatise the sports bra' and encourage women and young girls to find their perfect fit.
Dina has hand-picked the following bras for runners, shop her look here:
A medium-support sports bra, the removable 1-piece pad prevents the bra from shifting and folding for a comfortable fit. The pad pocket opens from the top and can fit a phone.
The Nike One leggings are designed to get you through every workout. These have an additional animal-print taping to mix up your running wardrobe.
