Images and details released ahead of the opening reveal that the attraction will be broken up into a series of superhero-themed areas.

Entertainment Weekly reported that it will include the Worldwide Engineering Brigade (or WEB), where the new Spidey ride is based.

WEB Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure allows visitors to team up with Peter Parker to sling webs at a group of Spider-Bots that have started to cause chaos.

Motion-tracking technology means that people on the ride will only have to extend their arms, like the character does, to shoot out their webs.

Executive creative director Brent Strong said: “We wanted it to feel not like there was a special device that had these powers, but you had these special powers.

“Early on, our goal was: How do we make the interface disappear? How do we make the interface as transparent as possible, so it feels like you’re web-slinging, and not that you’re wielding a web-slinger?”

The immersive new land is aimed at helping visitors almost become a part of the story, getting the chance to do things like train with the Dora Milaje and enjoy mystical demonstrations with Doctor Strange at the Sanctum.

Pym Test Kitchen is based on the idea of food scientists experimenting with growing and shrinking food.

It will serve up an array of superhero snacks, with “gargantuan candy bars or impossibly large meatballs” apparently among the options.

Other areas include the Collector’s Fortress and the Avengers Headquarters, where shows will take place.
