Yahoo Finance Milla Jovovich’s daughter Ever Anderson made Scarlett Johansson cry in 'Black Widow'
A brilliant performance in Black Widow that even made Scarlett Johansson cry shows that 13-year-old actor Ever Anderson is very much following in her mother, Milla Jovovich’s footsteps and taking Hollywood by storm.
Anderson, who plays young Natasha Romanoff in the film (now on Disney+) told Yahoo Canada it was “mind blowing” to be part of the Marvel franchise. She was able to speak to Johansson and there was one thing in particular that made Anderson feel particularly special.
“She said that I had made her cry in one of my scenes and it was one of the most amazing things ever, because she's such an honoured and well respected actress,” Anderson said.
“Some of the scenes were quite heavy, so they really stuck with me. It's kind of something that you think about at night.”
Being the daughter of Jovovich’ and writer/producer/director Paul W. S. Anderson, the younger Anderson revealed her parents did have some concerns when she decided at the age of five that acting is what she wanted to do professionally, but have always been supportive.
“Being a child actor means your childhood is definitely different from others,” she said. “But in the end, I did everything I had to do to prove myself and to prove that [this was] really what I wanted to do.”
Anderson also had her parents on set with her while filming Black Widow.
“They give me great notes on what they think I should try and do differently,” she said.
One piece of advice Anderson received from her parents was “to care and to be interested in yourself and everyone else.”
“And to always do more, always have more interests and always be interested in other things.”
The 13-year-old’s parents actually didn’t even tell her she got the role in Black Widow because she was still in school and, admittedly, cannot keep a secret.
“I blocked all my friends just so that I wouldn't tell,” Anderson shared.
This isn’t the last iconic role Anderson will take on. We’ll next see her as Wendy Darling in the upcoming live-action movie Peter Pan & Wendy, filming in Vancouver, also starring Jude Law as Captain Hook, Yara Shahidi as Tinkerbell, Alexander Molony as Peter Pan and Jim Gaffigan as Smee.
“I'm so thrilled to get to be a part of this,” Anderson said. “I've made so many amazing friendships and the experience is just so magical. I wish I could tell you more about everything.”
With two incredibly notable roles under her belt, Anderson would love to work on a historical drama next and she’s a big fan of Meryl Streep in Sophie’s Choice.
“It's a movie that really makes you think and I'd love to do something like that,” she said.
“Or, I'm a big nerd when it comes to books, so I would love to be part of a book series like ‘Six of Crows’ or if in the future they ever even remake a Harry Potter, I'd love to be part of it.”
