Disney World fans are divided over the park’s ‘disgusting’ new food item: ‘Does not sound appetizing’
Disney World is now selling a donut grilled cheese, and parkgoers have no idea what to think.
The all-new snack item, announced earlier this January, is exactly what it sounds like: a big, gooey grilled cheese sandwich with two glazed donuts for buns.
Available at Everglazed Donuts in Disney Springs, the Disney-themed shopping dining district just outside the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla., the sticky snacks have already made a huge splash among Disney fans online.
Disney World fans, many of whom are very willing to voice their opinions on the park’s latest foods, had plenty to say. Many called the unusual combo “disgusting” or a “heart attack” waiting to happen.
“That does not sound appetizing,” one Twitter user wrote.
“I love to eat the absolute worst foods for a person but this is too much even for me,” another added.
The donut grilled cheese is just one of the many out-there items on Evergalzed’s menu. The restaurant also sells cereal milk drinks, peanut butter bacon donuts and elaborate, donut-topped shakes, according to Disney Food Blog. Still, the grilled cheese has managed to draw the majority of headlines.
“Thought Mom made you a pretty mean grilled cheese sammie growing up? Well, you ain’t seen nothing yet!” Everglazed wrote on Facebook, captioning a video of the sandwich.
Some Disney World lovers did seem excited about the strange item, which falls in line with the recent trend of fast food chains selling sandwiches and burgers with donut buns.
“That looks amazing,” one Twitter user wrote.
“Why not? You go to Disney World for vacation…. your arteries deserve one too,” one Facebook user joked.
