Getting a little closer to those who serve our communities is always a wonderful thing. If the lockdowns taught us anything, it’s that people who pick up our trash, deliver our mail and prepare our food make the world go ’round.

A TikToker, who goes by Vizsla Ralph on the app, posts about her two dogs and how much they adore the local workers who come to gather her garbage bins.

In most of the videos, the pair of dogs cozy up to the windowsill each time the man comes around in his orange uniform. The garbageman is always happy to play with the dogs through the glass. But one day, it appeared the worker was ignoring the canines.

“The boys honestly thought the binmen had forgotten about them today. Look how Bruno’s tail stops wagging when he realizes,” the caption said.

The dogs stood on their hind legs to gaze out the window. Their tails wagged rapidly in excitement as they watched the man work outside. The duo waited for the garbageman to come over. For a moment it looked like he was too busy for the pets. One of the dogs, Bruno, even stopped wagging his tail in disappointment. But finally, the binman came over and tossed a few treats through the window’s opening. All was well.

The touching video received 1.6 million views on TikTok.

“What a lovely binman,” one user wrote.

“This just proves that deep down, people are good,” another said.

“I cried when his tail stopped wagging,” someone joked.
