Whether it’s on The Real Housewives of New York City or The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, one thing’s for sure: Dorinda Medley is going to make it nice.

While the beloved reality star may be “on pause” from the show that made her a household name, that doesn’t mean that she hasn’t remained booked and busy. In addition to starring on the second season of RHUGT, which took place at Blue Stone Manor, her home in the Berkshires, Medley was also inescapable at BravoCon 2022 and recently partnered with Amazon devices and Ring to help her celebrate Halloween.

For the latest episode of In The Know’s pop culture interview series, We Should Talk, Medley opened up about the partnership, her experience at BravoCon this month, iconic moments from Blue Stone Manor from over the years, her thoughts on both the RHONY reboot and the future RHONY: Legacy show and much more.

Listen to Dorinda Medley’s full episode of We Should Talk below, and keep reading for highlights from the interview:

On why she’s still not in a good place with Jill Zarin: To be honest with you, I thought Jill and I were good during [Ultimate Girls Trip]. We had a great Episode 6 into 7; we were hugging. I just found it interesting that after the show was done — I don’t know what happened. I don’t want to touch it, because what I thought was fine, six months later, when the press started, a whole new storyline started. I never like that, because I love for the audience to follow the show, and it conflicted with what was authentically happening at Blue Stone Manor. Someone called me up and told me about it, and I was like, “Really?” I had just gotten text messages [from Zarin] saying, “I love you! I want to be friends!” It was more confusing than anything. Say it to my face! I can deal with anything, but I don’t like when there’s one conversation going on in front of your face and on texts and then behind the scenes there’s another conversation.

On Ramona Singer calling the future RHONY: Legacy show “the loser show”: Really? I don’t understand that, because I thought she wanted to be on it. Why would she say that? I mean, you know what I think? I obviously don’t [agree with] that, and that’s not a smart business move for her. You know what I mean? We’re all at the point where we should all just be quiet and let things roll out. I don’t know why she would do that. What’s the upside of that? What’s the upside? Now she might be … I don’t know. Who knows who’s going to be asked back? She goes and calls it [“the loser show”]? I don’t think that’s going to go down well with people. I’m going to look it up when we’re done on my Echo Show 15, as soon as I’m done.

On partnering with Amazon devices and Ring for Halloween: It’s my second year working with Amazon’s smart devices. This year, we’re working with the Ring Video Doorbell and the Echo Show 15, which I’m very excited about. It’s great, because it helps me organize everything. I can set up routines, it sets up Dracula to greet you on the Ring doorbell, and what’s great is: With the Echo Show 15, I can see everything from my kitchen. I can meet and greet them at the front door, I can see them, they put up a Ring Floodlight Cam Pro, and the light goes off [if someone is there]. It’s great to have an integrated system with the smart devices. It makes my routines easier, I don’t have to leave the kitchen, I can pull up recipes, I can dim the light, I can put on music, I can see everyone at the front door, and it just makes my whole Halloween routine a lot easier.

On Jill Zarin having lunch with some of the new RHONY stars: I don’t know about that. It just seemed … very Jill. Well, I mean, is it necessary? I d\on’t know. It felt a little awkward to me. That’s what Jill … Jill’s on all that. I don’t know. Your first reaction when you opened it up was like [sighs], “Oh.”

On how her crashing Andy Cohen’s panel at BravoCon went down: I’ll tell you the story behind it. I was walking to my next gig — I think I had a press something in one of those press rooms — and I heard Andy speaking. I said, “Oh my God! Andy’s speaking!” And I saw [the woman] who was running the show, and I said, “Bring me to the front of the line, and I’ll put my back to the front of the microphone!” — because I knew he would see me. When they put the spotlight on, I turned around and started talking. He was truly surprised! I was like, “Hi, I’m Mrs. Medley from Blue Stone Manor!” [Laughs.]
