NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Mar 24, 2016) - Dr. Patricia Broderick serves as a Medical Professor in Physiology, Pharmacology and Neuroscience and is Course Director in Pharmacology for the Physician's Assistant Program at the City University of New York School of Medicine; Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at City College. Dr. Broderick is also part of the Doctoral Faculty in Biology (Neuroscience) at the City University of New York Graduate School. Additionally, she serves as an Adjunct Professor in Neurology at the NYU Langone Medical Center and Comprehensive Epilepsy Center. In 2000, Dr. Patricia Broderick established the Broderick Brain Foundation, which promotes neuroscience education and research while encouraging and supporting those exploring and expanding medical science boundaries. She is also an author, lecturer, researcher and the inventor of the BRODERICK PROBE®.

With an impressive educational background, Dr. Patricia Broderick earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from St. Thomas Aquinas College, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Continuing with her education, she earned a Master of Science Degree in Biology from Fordham University and a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from St. John's University. She has also completed Postdoctoral and Research Associate work at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the Cornell University Medical School.

It is difficult to ascertain where to begin when describing such a uniquely accomplished individual such as Dr. Patricia Broderick. She began her career as a Senior Scientist at USV Pharmaceutical (1979-1982), before becoming Scientific Consultant and Research Investigator at Pharmacia Upjohn Pharmaceuticals Company (1982-1988). She then took the position that she has held for the last 29 plus years as Medical Professor in Physiology, Pharmacology and Neuroscience at the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education, CCNY, City University of New York School of Medicine. She is also an accomplished author, recently finishing her book, Neuroimaging, Sensing Biochemistry in the Brain, which is being published by Pan Stanford Publishing Pte Ltd., Singapore.

After many years of research and study, she has invented the BRODERICK PROBE® biosensors and related biotechnologies. The BRODERICK PROBE®, named for her father, is a diagnostic biomedical device that sends neurotransmitter images in real time from the brain during live movement and is able to video track the brain in order to individually and uniquely design a patient's treatment. This invention has become an essential tool in the study of treatment options for neurological degenerative diseases and drug addictions. The probe uses a series of biosensors for this unique type of Neuromolecular Imaging Technique (NMI).
